Founded in the 90's the SVVFD is a community-based Fire Department focused on making our community a safer place for those who live and play here. With the help of our volunteer members, we organize fundraisers, exciting community-building events, and in-depth training sessions for our volunteers.

Not only do our members ensure the safety of the homes and people within the Valley, they also support those passing through along highway #3 from Berkley Creek to The East Gate of Manning Park. In addition, members are trained to respond to forest fires and are typically first on scene for medical calls. Even when called away from the Valley there are always volunteers who remain close to home to respond to any local emergency.
Additionally, if you need assistance we have taken steps to identify the homes of our firefighters by placing a sign that indicates
"Firefighter Lives Here".

Throughout the year our firefighters host events such as the now famous September long weekend Pig Roast which always sells out, Pancake Breakfast with Santa and Parade, Music Bingo with silent auction, Fire Station Open House/Pancake Breakfast and our one-of-a-kind Halloween haunted house extravaganza. These events not only bring the community and its visitors together, but it is also a great opportunity to meet the volunteers keeping us all safe.
We thank the residents of the Valley for their financial support through the collection of fire dues as well as the generous donations we receive during these events and throughout the year. Your support is greatly appreciated.
If you wish to donate you don't have to wait for an event to do so. Contact svvfdinfo@telus.net to make a donation.
