We are pleased to announce the opening of registration for the 2024 Spring Training Seminar taking place May 3-5, 2024. Download the 2 page registration form below and follow the instructions given to register and pay for the event. Registration closes April 15th.
Over 20 sessions will be offered this year including one and two day courses being offered through the Justice Institute of BC.

and offered by the JIBC (prerequisites required)

Your weekend begins on Friday night (may 3rd) with registration and package pick-up. Some vendors will also be open during this time.
Where: The great room at Holiday Trails Resort.
Delegates can individually check-in at registration or one representative from their department can check everyone in and pick up their event packages.
Note: No meals or snacks will be provided on the Friday night and there are no restaurants in Sunshine Valley. We will have a convenience counter open with limited snacks available to purchase. The nearest restaurants are in Hope which is a 15 minute drive from Sunshine Valley.
Opening Ceremony 8:30-9:00am
Morning Sessions: 9:00-noon
Afternoon Sessions: 1:30-4:30pm
Free time: 4:30-6:30pm
Banquet Doors Open: 6:30pm

Note: A map will be provided in your event package with the location of the sessions and where meals will be located.
You must have your lanyard with your name to access the dining hall.

All your meals will be provided for you at the event except for Friday evening. If you have any dietary restrictions make sure those are indicated on the registration form and submitted to us so we can inform the caterer in advance. We won't be able to make any accommodations at the event so advanced notice is required and necessary. In the event your request cannot be fulfilled you will be notified by one of the committee planning members in advance.
To access the dining hall you will need to show your lanyard with your name.
Snacks can be purchased at our temporarily set up convenience store or through the general store at The Holiday Trails Resort.
Sunshine Valley does not have any restaurants and the nearest ones are located in Hope which is a 15 minute drive from the Valley.
BANQUET ONLY TICKETS NEED TO KNOW
If you are purchasing a banquet only ticket for your partner or spouse you must register them ON THE REGISTRATION FORM and pay for the ticket when you submit the registration form. The cost of the banquet only ticket is $40.00. Only one extra ticket can be purchased per person.
Banquet tickets will not be sold at the event.
Since you will not know which sessions you will be taking part in until you arrive, all delegates should bring their SCBA with an extra full bottle, coveralls and turnout gear. Additionally, be prepared for mountain weather so pack accordingly.
The dinner on Saturday night is dress blues.
Sunshine Valley is a mountain community which means anything can happen all in one day. The planning committee has taken every step possible to ensure your comfort and safety at the event, but we can't control the weather.
When packing, consider you might be taking part in sessions while it is raining, snowing, blowing or all of the above in 5 minutes. We are hoping for an early spring and great weather, but there are no guarantees.
We are also sometimes 5-10 degrees colder here than in Hope so bring layers.

We are currently assembling a great roster of vendors and will create a list so you know ahead of time and can start to get excited about shopping.
Sunshine Valley BC is located about 15 minutes from Hope, BC on the number 3 Highway going East towards Manning Park and Princeton if you are travelling from Vancouver. If you need to reference a specific point for your GPS you can put in Holiday Trails Resort and RV park in Sunshine Valley to get specific directions.
Yes, you can however only one additional banquet ticket can be purchased and must be bought in advance with registration and indicated on the registration form. We will not be able to sell banquet tickets at the event. The cost for an extra banquet ticket is $40.00. Note: Your spouse/partner will not be given access to any other meals or receive a T-shirt however we will have T-shirts for sale at the event.
A spectator is an individual such as a Chief or Training Officer coming to the event but not participating in any of the sessions. They will be able to spectate at the event and will be given access to all meals including the banquet dinner. If a spectator wishes to bring their partner or spouse to the banquet dinner the spectator must pre-register their partner/spouse for the dinner and pay the $40.00 for the banquet ticket in advance when they register. Only one additional banquet ticket can be purchased per spectator. Banquet tickets will not be sold at the event and must be purchased at the time of registration as indicated on the registration form.
Just in case you missed it on the registration form. You can send payment via etransfer to firstname.lastname@example.org along with the registration form. If you are paying via cheque mail it and make your cheque payable to Sunshine Valley Volunteer Fire Department 71731 Meadow Rd. Hope, BC V0X 1L5 and be sure to include your registration form.
If you run out of space and can't fit all the information in, feel free to use another sheet but make sure all your department information is written at the top of the sheet so we can keep things organized. Also, indicate see attached sheet.
Welcome to your first Spring Training Seminar. You are in for a jammed packed weekend of learning, camaraderie and fun. Your Fire Chief or Training Officer will register you for the event and based on your years of experience and other variables the sessions will be chosen for you by the training committee led by Chief Chris Terry of the Sunshine Valley Volunteer Fire Department.
When you arrive and check-in at registration you will receive your personal welcome package along with a list of the sessions that have been chosen for you.
